Sequoia Waste Solutions is the primary point of contact for any commercial business' waste and recycling needs. We are our customer's valued resource, helping them save money and keep costs down over the long term using our industry leading technology, Sequoia Central.

Sequoia Central empowers businesses with pricing data from a nationwide network of publicly traded and independent waste and recycling haulers. Our software also categorizes and monitors removal services across any number of locations, creating a single source for reporting, customer service, invoicing, and contract management.

We typically save businesses over 25% on their monthly waste expenses, and focus on businesses with $1,000 - $100,000 per month in waste and recycling expenditures.

Your Position

The Inside Sales Executive is responsible for researching new prospects, making the connection, qualifying the prospect and securing meetings in a creative, solutions-selling environment. This position is activities-based and includes a commission based on number of meetings scheduled and the number of meetings closed by the Sales team. The market for Sequoia’s unique managed waste services is extremely broad, and is not limited by geographic region.

The Sequoia method of sales requires adaptive critical thinking abilities that are above average, because we engage with clients from many different markets and interface with various decision influencers throughout the organizations, from on-site operational workers to corporate financial analysts. Each industry handles trash and waste management differently and the astute salesperson uniquely adapts their presentation to each prospect based on research, understanding of the industry and a solid strategy based on value selling with cost savings as an added benefit of handling an old problem in an improved manner.

The Details

  • Full-time position based in Pittsburgh, PA
  • Salary plus commission – Total Comp $40,000 - $55,000+
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package, including 401K matching, Dental, Vision and Medical
  • Part of a growing, young company.

The Requirements

  • Eagerness to learn by failing quickly
  • An Associates or Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years B2B Sales experience
  • Must be very comfortable researching prospects with relevant online resources
  • Strong cold calling ability – over 150 dials per week (we use some fantastic tools to make this easy)
  • Professional demeanor with an ability to learn market specifics
  • Ability to adhere to Sales Training and to propose changes to current methods
  • Inquisitive nature – willing to push prospects to consider alternatives
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills, and tactful follow-up skills
